Kristi West, LCSW

Psychotherapist
PA
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals facing health-related conditions, chronic pain, caregiver fatigue, domestic abuse, aging, and bereavement. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. Before starting my private therapy practice, I worked as a hospice and palliative care social worker, medical social worker, and community counselor in a local church. My approach to therapy is eclectic and creative, grounded in the strengths perspective and an anti-oppressive lens. My approach begins with establishing rapport and a collaborative alliance. I draw from models such as DBT, CBT, psychoeducation, creativity, mindfulness, and nature-based interventions to help you tolerate and manage life's disruptive stressors. As a follower of Jesus, I aim to show empathy and compassion for the sufferings of all people. I work primarily with adults struggling with health-related suffering, loss and grief, caregiver stress, and toxic abusive relationships. My specialty lies in addressing complex health challenges that often produce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and suicidality. I also have extensive expertise working with Veterans and addressing traumatic complicated loss and grief. My communication style is approachable and relaxed. I consistently check in with you to see what is working and what can be adjusted to meet your goals. I will encourage you, walk alongside you, highlight your strengths, and celebrate your victories-big or small. My journey to mental healthcare has always been rooted in serving underrepresented and marginalized populations, a role I consider an honor. Over time, I recognized the disparities in access to support, which motivated me to offer the kind of care I now provide. My goal is to clarify what you are hoping for and support you in achieving it.
