What should a new client know about working with you?

The approach to therapy has a theme of Gestalt, we are two people sharing an experience together. My focus is to create a space in which the client can feel safe to explore feelings, thoughts and create new neuro-pathways of thinking to support overall health and well being. The client is the expert when it comes to knowing themselves and the providers role to ask questions that allow the client to share and explore the journey of understanding the self on a deeper level.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is 90 minutes longer to perform a full assessment of the client and create goals for therapy. Then client and provider meet weekly for 50 minutes, 1-2 times to support continued assessment, rapport building, creating relationship and exploring the steps towards goals, barriers that may present in these steps and feelings arising through the process. Time in treatment can range from 3 months to 1 year depending on the goals and desire of the client to continue. The provider will work at the client's pace and check in on goals, progress through scaling in sessions and transparent communication.
