“My sessions with Kristin have helped immensely while going through a tough time with PTSD, and panic attacks. It is very comforting to know on a day that I am stressed that I will have someone to vent to in a day or so rather than let my symptoms build and not have anyone reassuring me that things will get better.”

Getting to know Dr. Kristin Jackson

Are you experiencing difficulty moving forward with life after trauma, loss, or unanticipated setbacks? Do anxiety and worry prevent you from fully engaging and living the life you want? Hello, my name is Kristin, and I enjoy helping survivors of trauma and loss, as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders, heal from past experiences and develop the confidence and courage to navigate life’s challenges. Although the process looks different for everyone, I strive to help clients empower themselves by identifying and building upon personal strengths, connecting to values, understanding the links between past experiences and current challenges, and providing skills and support to process difficult emotions and confront triggers and fears as they arise in everyday life. I treat individuals of all ages with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. However, I especially enjoy working with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety and worry, as well as those who have experienced the loss of a loved one or pet. I believe therapy is an adventure that should be playful, engaging, and directly relatable. I welcome humor and sarcasm and particularly love incorporating clients’ personal interests and popular culture into sessions. I often bring my two adorable chihuahuas, Dusty and Attila, into virtual sessions when desired and feasible. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. I believe the telehealth platform offers an incredible opportunity to connect and work together in a relaxed setting. I work best with clients who embrace this non-traditional modality and strive to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and apply insights and skills learned in therapy to real-life situations.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that laying the foundation for successful therapy is essential during the first session or two. Together, we will construct a vision of what successful treatment looks and feels like and we will build a treatment plan from there. During the early parts of therapy, we will explore aspects of your history and current thought processes and patterns to identify and address the underlying cause of current difficulties through direct application of skills either within or outside of session. The most valuable outcome of therapy is the confidence that is gained from overcoming mental and emotional obstacles.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Kristin is such a blessing!! She makes you feel so seen and heard, and she is super empathetic and understanding. She helps you reason through things and dig a little deeper all while being so validating and helpful. Any therapy anxiety I have prior to our sessions quickly fades as soon as we get into things because that's the kind of space and energy she creates. I am very grateful to have found her!!
