Kristin Koehler, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Kristin Koehler, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I have garnered much of my clinical experience working with adolescents, parents, and families in various residential and outpatient treatment programs, using a mixture of different therapeutic approaches to help clients make progress and start to feel better. I have always been drawn to helping others and enjoy seeing people thrive when they are able to be the best version of themselves. I have found that my style and approach tend to be a good fit for pre-teens and older adolescents who may be navigating emotional, social, and family challenges. I also have extensive experience working with adults to help them manage mood disorders, work through relationship challenges, and navigate different life transitions while developing skills to manage stressors more effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What clients can expect from me is a non-judgemental space to share what they would like to change and work on. My communication style is calm, direct, and patient. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me and to know that they will lead the therapeutic process. I believe you are more likely to reach goals that are achievable and driven by your own wants and needs. This starts with building a trusting therapeutic relationship that will promote a sense of safety and foster openness to change. I believe everyone has the capacity for change when they feel safe and supported enough to do so and enjoy being a part of that journey in whatever capacity I can.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
