Getting to know Kristine Gigliotti

I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety and depression due to life transitions and family or relationship issues. I also have had success working with clients navigating trauma recovery. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University. Something unique about my approach is that I am direct and willing to call out negative patterns I notice while still being supportive, non-judgmental, and empathic.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work best with clients who are self reflective and come to our appointments with an idea of what they would like to focus on. My role is to not to give advice but rather engage in reflective listening, notice patterns and explore ways that clients can meet their goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Prior to our intake session, clients will need to fill out intake paperwork. Our first session will last 60 minutes and provides time for my client and I to get to know one another and see if my therapeutic style is a match for them. I work with clients to set goals so we have something concrete to focus our sessions on. Subsequent sessions last 50 minutes. While I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide clients with a superbill that they can submit to their insurance for reimbursement.
