Kristy Hinz, LPC

Psychotherapist
Before becoming a therapist, I spent well over a decade as a midwife. People would always comment on how magical it must have been that I got to deliver babies. I would respond that babies are awesome, but the real magic was counseling people as they navigated through their transformation into parenthood. I decided to pursue the counseling profession so that I could continue to be a witness to all types of transformation. As a therapist, I get to show up for clients by providing a safe place for them to care for themselves as they grow and change. I approach hard conversations and suggestions through a filter of love, and unbound kindness. I assist clients in their personal growth with evidence informed practices and creative solutions to help them live a life of contented wellness. I am a neurodivergent and queer affirming therapist who has expertise in building community, radical acceptance, and limitless growth. I also have skills in helping folks through times of transitions such as pregnancy and birth, marriage, divorce, gender affirming surgery, and the changes from adolescence to adulthood. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone is worthy of the hard work it takes to move toward an ideal life. Headshot of Headshot of Kristy Hinz – MA, LPC I have been married to my partner Dave for over 25 years, and together we have two of the most wickedly smart, funny, kind children. We are the neighborhood parents who provide a safe house filled with snacks and laughs for the geeks and gamers, the singers, the actors, and all of the misunderstood kids who just need a place to exist without fear of judgement. When I’m not feeding a house full of teens and young adults, you can find me in the woods hiking and hugging trees.
