What should a new client know about working with you?

I'll be honest and straight forward with you. Most of the times you'll have some "homework" but not always in a formal way. We're attempting to identify and change patterns of functioning, and in that the homework may be to 'think' of something over the next week and let your mind mull over some ideas or questions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session will be about 55 minutes. We'll focus on your week and attempt to link the problems of the week to an underlying cause. Sometimes that cause originates from a specific way of thinking, other times this cause relates from a past experience that still has an unhealthy hold on you. Either way, we'll be trying to rationalize ways to handle the thoughts, identify the emotion and how it is affecting you, and begin to work through that complicated maze of thoughts, feelings, memories, actions. We'll try to end with some more practical and concrete steps to focus on during the week.
