Kylie is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Nurse. She completed an Associate’s in Applied Sciences in Nursing at SUNY Adirondack. As a Nurse, Kylie has worked in orthopedic, cardiac, psychiatric, and obstetric units. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Plattsburgh where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Kylie also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from The University at Albany. Kylie has focused much of her professional career on the well-being of children and their families; having developed and implemented a trauma assessment protocol, utilizing the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) questionnaire. Much of her work has occurred at the inpatient hospital setting as a clinical evaluator, while aiding children through difficult crises and teaching them helpful skills to manage their emotions. Kylie explains that supporting the adults in these children’s lives has always been a crucial aspect of her work. Kylie believes that the key principle that guides her work, is the belief that you-- the client, are doing the best that you can with what you have at this moment. Kylie believes that it is her job to help you discover additional tools to manage through life’s difficulties. She prides herself on being open-minded, nonjudgmental, and always believing that you are the expert on yourself (or your child). Kylie is here to listen and support you. Employing a primarily Person-Centered approach, Kylie draws techniques from many different therapeutic orientations including: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Art and Narrative therapies; and mindfulness practices.
