Kylie Stahl, LCMHC

Kylie Stahl, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for working with young adults experiencing trauma and attachment issues through a developmental lens. I specialize in anxiety and depression, behavioral difficulties, attachment disruptions, LGBTQIA+ folx, young adults navigating transitional life stages, and religious trauma. I have experience working in a wide variety of settings, including residential, community, recreational, and private practice. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Carolina University. Showing up to your first therapy session, you may feel as though you are drowning in a sea of emotions. The most helpful thing I can do is get in and swim with you. There are two ways of swimming: on the surface, which may look like getting through the day with coping skills, venting, and exploring day-to-day stressors; and diving deep to explore some dark emotional caves that may be avoided. Both ways can be challenging, and both ways are moving forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe first and foremost that a person's healing and growth is reflective of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of creating individualized holding space for each client. I utilize a holistic approach pulling from a psychodynamic modality in addition to other techniques from ACT, CBT, and expressive arts. I have EMDR and TF-CBT training and utilize mindfulness based practices, exploring the mind and body connection and provide healing to all aspects of our whole self.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

While each session can look different, I strive towards creating a safe environment where my client's leave feeling a little emotionally lighter.
