Kyra Shapiro Gutierrez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
FL
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families overcome life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral challenges. My professional background includes working in special education, as well as providing therapy for foster youth and victims of crime. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, trauma-informed approach and strengthened my commitment to meeting clients where they are with empathy and understanding. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), I help clients develop practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, empowered, and confident in your ability to move forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I believe the foundation of successful therapy is a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll focus on your strengths, work through obstacles, and develop practical strategies that help you feel more confident and resilient both during and outside of our sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your concerns, identify your goals, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs and priorities. As therapy continues, we’ll use evidence-based techniques and practical skill-building to help you better manage challenges, improve relationships, process difficult experiences, and achieve meaningful progress. Throughout the process, we’ll regularly review your goals and adjust our approach to ensure therapy remains effective and focused on what’s most important to you.
