Hi, I am Lady J. Sjostrom. What should a new client know about working with you?

As a mental health counselor, my approach is warm, supportive, and grounded in unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we will work collaboratively to identify goals and develop strategies that support your emotional well-being. Depending on your needs and the nature of your concerns, we may meet once or twice a week for sessions that typically last one hour. Most clients engage in therapy for about three to six months, but the duration is flexible and based on your individual progress and comfort level. My goal is to support you in feeling empowered, understood, and on a path toward meaningful healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first step in beginning therapy is making a personal commitment to the process of growth and healing. Once you’ve decided to begin, I will guide you through an initial assessment phase where you’ll complete a set of psychological questionnaires designed to help us understand where you currently stand emotionally. These may include standardized screening tools for depression, anxiety, and other relevant areas of concern. The results of these assessments will provide a clearer picture of your mental health and help us collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This structured approach ensures that our work together is focused, effective, and aligned with your goals for therapy.
