Establishing a good therapeutic relationship significantly increases the likelihood that the journey you are about to embark on will be successful. What better way to start than by getting to know who I am, so you can begin to build trust that I will help you get to a place of feeling better? I received my bachelor's degree in Health Psychology from Radford University, formerly known as Jefferson College of Health Sciences, and a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I am a supervising Licensed Professional Counselor and hold a Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) license through the Virginia Board of Counseling. Additionally, I am a registered clinical supervisor for Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC). I have worked with a myriad of populations during my 9 years in the field, with my primary focus and passion on anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, relationship issues, substance use, depression, parenting, and women's issues. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based, and solution-focused approaches. I also provide Immigration Psychological Evaluations (Asylum, T-Visa, U-Visa, VAWA). As a trauma-informed therapist, I can assist with completing thorough and clinically appropriate evaluations. My goal is to support you during this difficult time and provide you with the tools you need to feel better. Once you learn these tools, you will always have them in your "back pocket." Essentially, I teach you how to be your own therapist.
