Getting to know LaMonica Mercy
LaMonica Mercy works with teens and adults. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, career coaching, caregiver issues, relationship and women issues, and family dynamics associated with adoption and with non-paternity events (NPE). In addition to her work with adults, LaMonica has a particular interest and expertise in working with young adults experiencing difficulties managing life and school.
As a clinician, LaMonica is committed to providing a safe space for her clients to work through life‚ challenges and situations and to develop coping skills and tools to help them enhance their lives and resolve their issues.
LaMonica has over 30 years experience in public education. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas and earned her Masters in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She then completed advanced coursework to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
When she is not working, LaMonica enjoys reading, cooking, shopping for antiques, spending time with family and doing genealogy research.
