Getting to know Larissa Torcomian

Are you struggling with life stressors, feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious? Are you tired of feeling stuck in constant worrying, self-criticism, or relationship difficulties? Do you strive to heal your relationship with food and your body? If you want to work on your well-being, live more fully, and develop coping mechanisms and stress management techniques to overcome the challenges that hold you back, I can provide the support you need to achieve these goals. As your therapist, I will help you gain insight into your life experiences and their impact on you today. I would love to talk with you about how I can support your journey toward healing and growth. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image concerns, perfectionism, identity development, trauma, postpartum depression and anxiety, stress management, relationship problems, attachment difficulties, and childhood abuse. I hold a Master's degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from the City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, which informs my compassionate and comprehensive approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Through a nonjudgmental, supportive, and empathic manner, my objective is to help bring clarity to your goals, learn stress reduction techniques, guide you to take supported risks that can change your life, and help you understand parts of yourself and your life that will ease your suffering. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and will help guide you to increase self-awareness, explore needs, consider alternative perspectives, break counterproductive habits and patterns, and increase personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
