I am Larry Prentice, MS, LPC, NCC, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with experience serving children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. I earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University and have advanced doctoral training in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in trauma and crisis. My clinical background includes outpatient, school-based, community, in-home, mobile-crisis, residential, and acute inpatient psychiatric care. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, behavioral concerns, eating disorders, family challenges, and acute mental health crises. My experience includes psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, individual and family therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, suicide-risk assessment, safety planning, treatment planning, and care coordination. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client's age, culture, strengths, and goals. I use evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while adapting treatment to the client's individual needs and circumstances. I strive to create a safe, respectful environment where clients can openly explore difficult experiences, strengthen coping and communication skills, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change. When appropriate, I collaborate with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and community partners to provide coordinated support and promote lasting emotional well-being.
