What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means entering a space where authenticity, humor, and healing can coexist. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a collaboration — you bring your story and expertise in your life, and I bring tools, insight, and a safe space for exploration and growth. My style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and direct when needed. I use trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches that integrate DBT, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based practices to help you build emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience. You’ll find that I emphasize balance — we’ll laugh, reflect, challenge old patterns, and celebrate progress, no matter how small. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, establish inner peace, and create practical strategies that work in your real life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with creating a safe, welcoming space where you can simply exhale. In our first few sessions, we’ll explore your story — what brings you to therapy, your goals, and the patterns that may be holding you back. From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan designed to help you heal, grow, and thrive at a pace that feels right for you. A typical session includes a mix of talk therapy, mindfulness, and practical skill-building drawn from evidence-based approaches like Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, and ACT. We might identify triggers, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen coping strategies, or practice grounding and emotional regulation techniques. You can expect sessions to be interactive, compassionate, and balanced — sometimes reflective, sometimes goal-oriented, and always centered on your empowerment. My aim is for you to leave each session with greater clarity, emotional relief, and tools you can use between sessions to support lasting change.
