Hi! I don't know what circumstances have brought you here, but I am glad you are taking this step. I truly believe that our greatest potential is within us; sometimes you just need someone to hear what you have to say and help guide you to a place where you can get a better view of your own strengths. In my sessions, I aim to cultivate a safe place for learning and exploring for the child/adolescent and family. Resiliency is nurtured through support, and I want to be an agent of healing for you. My goal, through therapy, is to address the issues and provide encouragement to work through them. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 12 years of experience working directly with children, and over 6 years working in the mental health field. I received my B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and my M.Ed. in Counseling from Texas Southern University. I enjoy helping people identify their strengths and recognize the power they have in their own lives. Working with children has always been my first love. My experience includes working with at-risk youth, low-income families, the homeless population, and counseling families and individuals involved in the CPS system, which has given me tools to address a variety of childhood issues. I utilize a person-centered approach in counseling combined with psychoeducation and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients navigate toward their greatest potential.
