Latoscha Sherman, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
LaToscha “Toscha” Sherman is a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are—without having to perform, have all the answers, or pretend everything is fine. She specializes in working with adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, and the pressure that often comes with being the person everyone else depends on. She has a particular passion for helping high-achieving adults and individuals who were diagnosed with ADHD later in life better understand themselves, develop strategies that actually fit the way their brain works, and move beyond the shame and frustration that can come from years of feeling like they “should” be able to manage things differently. Toscha’s approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and rooted in curiosity. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused strategies, psychoeducation, and trauma-informed care. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, she helps clients understand the patterns underneath them and learn how to apply that insight in their everyday lives. Before entering private practice, Toscha served in clinical and counseling leadership roles in both higher education and a university counseling clinic. These experiences strengthened her commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Toscha believes you can’t change what you don’t understand. Her goal is to help clients become more curious about themselves, more compassionate toward themselves, and more confident in creating meaningful, sustainable change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what you’re experiencing. I take a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy, which means we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you. I’ll meet you where you are while also helping you identify patterns, build practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. You can expect our sessions to be supportive, honest, and focused on the goals that matter most to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start by creating a safe, supportive space where you can openly share what’s bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience. During our first sessions, we’ll explore your current concerns, relevant experiences, and goals for treatment. From there, we’ll work together to develop a personalized approach that fits your needs. Sessions may focus on identifying patterns, developing healthier coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening relationships, and creating practical strategies you can use in everyday life. I believe therapy should be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you, with regular check-ins to ensure we’re making progress toward the goals that matter most to you.
