Taking the first step toward improving your mental health can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or simply seeking personal growth, I am here to support you in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. My approach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, evidence-based treatment approach focused on helping you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are interconnected. The goal is to empower you to recognize negative or unhelpful patterns and learn effective strategies for making positive changes in your life. My focus As a therapist, I have worked with adults who struggle with anxiety, anger, depression, trauma-related issues, etc. To assist you in meeting your goals, we will work together on setting realistic goals and exploring different interventions/strategies that will assist in decreasing your symptoms and increasing healthier habits/behaviors. My communication style Throughout the therapy process, I prioritize open and honest communication with my clients. I strive to create an empathic, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where my clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without fear of judgment. I actively listen to what clients share and encourage questions. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into this field began in 2007, when I began to work with children who struggle with mental illness and intellectual disabilities as a psychiatric aide and a case manager for 11 years. In those positions, I felt like I was able to make a difference in my clients' lives, so I decided to become a mental health therapist. My goals for you You will be encouraged to participate in setting goals, practicing new techniques, and reflecting on your progress. I may suggest exercises or “homework” between sessions—these are designed to help you apply what you’re learning and build confidence in your new skills.
