Hello and congratulations on taking the first courageous step toward a better you! Seeking professional help is not always easy, but you've done it, and that's something to be proud of. My name is LaTrenia Moore, but you can call me Trina. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky and a National Certified Counselor. With a Master of Arts in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my practice. I have been providing therapy for the last four years, and before that, I spent 15 years as a teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. My background in education has been invaluable in helping families and children navigate parenting and academic challenges. Originally from Chicago, I have lived in several states and even spent three years in Germany as a former military wife. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by military families and those transitioning to civilian life. My work experience spans community mental health facilities, university populations, youth group homes, and women's shelters, where I provided individual, family, and group therapy. Currently, I am also a counselor at a middle school on a military base, further enriching my expertise in both military and civilian sectors. My counseling style is empathetic, mindful, and client-centered, yet direct and straightforward. I believe in establishing a good rapport with my clients and creating a safe space for counseling. Together, we will work collaboratively to address the issues that brought you to therapy and achieve the goals you have set for yourself. I incorporate evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I view the therapeutic alliance as a partnership built on mutual respect, honesty, communication, and a commitment to 'do the work.' Again, congratulations on your courageous first step toward healing. I look forward to helping you gain the tools to navigate your day-to-day life experiences. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other challenges, I am here to support and empower you. Let's work together to achieve your goals and create a better you.
