Laura Bickler, LMHC

Psychotherapist
3030 Starkey Blvd, New Port Richey, FL
Helping people is extremely rewarding to me. I was inspired by a counselor who had a profound effect on my life when I was in my teens. Because of that, my goal has always been to counsel others and help make changes in their lives. The best experience in my life has been being a parent and having a life partner. That has motivated me even more to guide others on their path to self-discovery and peace. I have worked in substance abuse settings, virtual therapy, and play therapy. I believe that you and every person I counsel deserve to be treated with unconditional acceptance so you can grow emotionally. I have heard that people are at their greatest state of learning when they are empathetic. I believe this to be true and want to give all my focus to you, building a therapeutic relationship to help you feel more self-actualized in your personal growth. I believe words can be used creatively when counseling clients. A therapist has to be careful with the placement of words according to the client's personality and issues. Pushing too hard could cause distrust, while placing words in a subtle manner can help clients feel more trust toward their therapist. Because of this, the training that has worked best for me involves CBT therapy, play therapy, solution-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
