Getting to know Laura Carmody

Being a therapist is a privilege. I am passionate about helping individuals address mental health challenges and navigate transitional periods in their lives with compassionate, person-centered counseling. I offer individual counseling to support healing, empowerment, boundary-setting, and finding inner peace. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide effective, empathetic care. My specializations include grief and loss, cancer care and diagnosis, caregiver issues, emotional abuse, relationship problems, and self-esteem. If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or depleted, I can help and would love to hear from you. I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and am committed to providing non-judgmental support to all of my clients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer compassion and experience to help guide you on your path to wellness. Whether you are going through loss, in a stage of healing or needing support and guidance, you've taken the first step by reading this, and I'm so glad you're here.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My sessions are 55 minutes; I offer virtual, in-person, or hybrid depending on your preference and availability. Before your intake, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to talk about the issues you're bringing to therapy. Afterwards, I will send you intake paperwork for your initial appointment. I can't wait to meet you.
