Laura Estroff, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I enjoy working with people who feel like they’re carrying a heavy load, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns they want to change but don’t know where to start. Therapy is a space to breathe, say the things you haven’t said out loud, and begin untangling what’s been holding you back. I bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity to every session, and I’m here to support you in creating real change and reconnecting with your true self. I bring a calm and honest curiosity, eager to listen and understand what you’ve been carrying on your own, judgmental-free. Be yourself, be real, be honest. Show up exactly as you are. I value genuine connection, a good sense of humor, and honesty. I adore this beautiful mess we call life, imperfections and all. When I’m not working, I recharge with books, plants, and my wonderfully quirky dog. Who doesn’t want an unbiased third party with nothing but your best interest in mind' If you’re thinking about therapy, what better time than now' I’m here to help you explore what’s next, find your voice, and lean into your strengths. Change looks like progress, not perfection. Sometimes it’s hard to see the picture when you’re in the frame. Laura Estroff has a Master’s degree from SUNY Brockport. Laura Estroff is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), #129599 (NY). Supervised by Caren Levensohn, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), #049701.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m here to help you untangle what hurts and create space for what’s possible, without pretending life is simple. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you examine the patterns you’ve relied on while supporting you in building new ways forward; my two rules are simple: keep it real and keep it honest. Together, we’ll work through what feels overwhelming, confront what’s holding you, and create practical steps to enable change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or uncertain about their next chapter—whether that’s in relationships, work, recovery, or identity. I bring a grounded, real, and compassionate presence to our work together, helping you make sense of what you’re carrying while developing practical tools for relief and growth. My style blends trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relational approaches with motivational interviewing, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices.
