Getting to know Laura Hollands-Steck

**ACCEPTING SELF-PAY PATIENTS ONLY. EACH SESSION COSTS $180, AND I CAN PROVIDE THE SUPERBILL IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FILE WITH INSURANCE. I DO NOT PRESCRIBE MEDICATION.** I believe everyone deserves some time to sit down with a strong listener and/or problem solver about their life. The feedback I receive is that I empathize and mirror the key issues quickly, helping you brainstorm. I then assist you in "reframing" negative situations and motivate and prioritize what is needed to actually create change. I work well with mood issues, chaos, panic, addictions, and all relationship challenges. Every session, you should walk away with substantial suggestions to help in different areas. I also work with career issues, parenting, and women with breast cancer. With 25 years of experience using a variety of methods-from talk therapy to hypnosis-I address all issues as well as career counseling and leadership business coaching. I will help you set goals, brainstorm, and motivate you. You can gain insight into the themes and problems so that you recognize the issues and achieve results. I hold a Master's in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. I'm happy to talk by phone for 10–15 minutes to see if we have a fit. I prefer people to work weekly for at least six months, but we can make a difference quickly. I can cut through complex situations and will believe in you until you get the results you want.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have done a lot of individual therapy and couples and family myself so I am a big believer ni the results. Many therapists sadly do not do their own work.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I might get the history and help set some goals, give you some feedback on your not helpful thinking or behavior and brainstorm a future positive life with you. I see what really helps clients change and will help identify what actions and thoughts will make a big difference in feeling good more of the time..
