Hi there, I'm Laura! I am a Licensed Clinial Professional Counselor (LCPC) that has been working with children, adolescents, adults and families navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting changes. My focus Children, adolescents, adults and families who are dealing with anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, or feeling overwhelmed that want practical, compassionate support to make meaningfully changes. My approach I believe that effective counseling begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, compassion and genuine understanding. My communication style I am Direct and straightforward; warm but honest. I am able to talk about the hard things band break them down so that growth can occur within each step of these hard things. My journey to mental healthcare I started working with children and adolescents that were in crisis. From there I found that in that work you are really working with the family. Later in my career I started working with a partial hospitalization program/intensive outpatient program (PHP/IOP) where I worked more with adults. I have also been a DBT provider for 16 years. My goals for you I believe helping clients reach their goals starts with meeting them where they are. I don't believe there is one-size-fits-all approach to counseling. Each person as their own experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals. My role is to walk alongside of my clients, not ahead of them or behind them. Our first session During the first session I like to gather background and just get to know my client, their family structure and what it is like to walk in their shoes.
