My approach My foundation is person-centered, as I believe this builds rapport quickly and the relationship between client and therapist is the most important part of therapy. I also use CBT, motivational interviewing, Gestalt, and trauma-focused interventions to support your healing. My focus I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, or personality disorders. If you need support and encouragement to gain insights into your struggles while learning new strategies and skills to cope in a healthy way, I'm here to help. My communication style I make sure our sessions feel like a safe, calm, and open space for you to connect and grow. I'm a down-to-earth therapist who will gently confront you when needed, without judgment. I maintain a very attentive attitude and hope to foster openness and engagement. My journey to mental healthcare I first became interested in psychology when I was sixteen, and I have followed a straight line to where I am today. I couldn't imagine doing anything else for my career. My goals for you Your goals are for you to achieve and for me to encourage, guide, and keep you accountable. The insights and understanding will come up in our sessions, but most of the real work will be done by you alone, outside of therapy. My first session with you The first session will include a lot of questions as I get to know you, your personality, what you want out of therapy, and your life. There will be some formalities to go over, but mostly this session will be for me to try and really understand you and what you need.
