Psychotherapist

If you are reading this, you are considering counseling. People start therapy for many reasons. Some are looking for help in making life decisions or plans. Others are going through a challenge, maybe trying to manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, and grief. Maybe you are going through a transition, such as a job loss, a health issue, retirement, or grief. Working with a therapist provides assistance in understanding your feelings and developing new coping skills. My practice focuses on working with adults seeking support for anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in independent studies with an emphasis in social work, master's degrees in education and counseling, and a doctorate in counseling. I've worked in community mental health in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am honored and find satisfaction in guiding adults through self-discovery and developing coping skills that can be used throughout their lives. As my practice name indicates, sometimes you need to adjust your thinking and 'change your mind'. I utilize an eclectic approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and brief solution focused therapy.
