“I think it’s really important to take the stigma away from mental health…My brain and my heart are really important to me. I don’t know why I wouldn’t seek help to have those things be as healthy as my teeth.” - Kerry Washington As Kerry said, It’s important to check in with your mental health just as regularly as going to the doctor for your physical health. I’m a trauma-focused, client-centered, and flexible clinician. Everything is on the table because every action from the past or present can help you make connections to current behaviors. It’s going to be messy and uncomfortable at times and sometimes you are really not going to like me and that’s okay. I got my start as a therapist in the early 2020s with my Master’s degree in Social Work from DePaul University. I’ve been doing variations of counseling throughout my career, and it provided a deep well of knowledge to share. I enjoyed watching families welcome their new babies when I was a doula. I am a proud parent of 3 kids who are discovering the world, and helping young girls become powerful leaders and community members as a Girl Scout leader. I like to take an eclectic approach to my counseling work by pulling from various therapy models.
