Laurel Hawkinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eckerd College and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. Laurel has had a variety of counseling experiences, including working with individuals and families within group homes, residential treatment facilities, and detention centers. She also has experience facilitating psycho-educational groups and process groups.
Laurel uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Client-Centered Therapy approaches and is intensively trained in these methods. She works with individuals experiencing substance abuse, personality disorders, mood disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and trauma.
Laurel takes a holistic approach to her clients, focusing on various aspects of their lives that may contribute to their struggles. She will help you learn how to challenge irrational beliefs that contribute to emotional distress or other issues to improve your well-being. Laurel Hawkinson sees patients aged 5 years and above.
