Welcome to my page, y'all! I am Lauren, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from The University of Texas at Tyler, where I also earned my Bachelor's degree. I love what I do. I have been providing therapy for 15+ years in a variety of settings: inpatient hospitalization, outpatient group therapy, and private practice. I work with those struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, work stress, mood instability, loss, relationship problems, and those who are generally resistant to therapy. I count it as a blessing to walk beside people at their perceived worst... and at their very best. I am currently accepting new clients in person or online via video conference. I accept private pay and have just begun taking insurance! Please share!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My training and therapeutic approach is driven by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT explores the impact our thoughts have on our feelings and behavior. I wholeheartedly believe that changing our thinking can change our lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session I will ask an important question: "What brought you here?" This will provide an opportunity for you to share your story; your current difficulties, symptoms and how you typically cope when things get hard. Therapy offers a unique opportunity to share your story in an open and honest way. This vulnerability helps to build trust, lessen fear/anxiety, foster an environment for change and allow room for peace.
