Lauren Hawkins, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hello! My name is Lauren and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Texas. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have over 9 years of experience in working with mental health and substance use concerns. I have worked with individuals ages four to adult with a variety of mental health/behavioral presenting issues such as: addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, phase-of-life problems, relationship and family issues, career challenges, and many more. I have also worked with many clients who have experienced physical trauma, psychological or emotional abuse. My experience is varied and across a wide array of settings, as I have provided individual and group therapy in community mental health agencies, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health hospitals, transitional living programs, and schools. I have provided crisis intervention services in the community setting as part of a crisis intervention response team. Prior to my work as a therapist, I was a teacher and coach. Mental health is a journey, and while you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. It takes courage to identify that there may be steps to take in order to strive for a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and encourage you. Wherever you're at on your journey, I am willing to meet you there and support you in reaching your desired destination. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After your first session, you can expect to work together to develop not only counseling goals, but a plan of action (i.e. treatment plan), to help guide your counseling journey. Each session we will work through whatever you bring into the session. I believe that the counseling process is not linear, which allows for counseling to be client-centered, allowing the client to work through the good days and bad days. Through the counseling journey, we will regularly evaluate your counseling goals, progress towards goals, and edit goals as they are accomplished or need editing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
