Getting to know Lauren J. Brunner
Do you long for balance amid this chaotic world? Do you struggle with managing your relationships, work, and emotional or physical health? My approach cultivates empowerment through compassionate support. I begin by learning about you and your worldview. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that within you resides the inherent capacity to find your way through the most difficult circumstances. It is my perspective that we often just need a bit of assistance in cultivating that path. My role as a therapist is to help facilitate growth and change by developing a relationship within a nurturing and supportive environment. I received my Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2010, where I focused my studies on human development across the lifespan. I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2012. With more than 13 years of extensive experience as a psychotherapist and in behavioral health, I have come to one solid conclusion: The path toward healing is not so much about becoming anything new. Often, it is about unbecoming everything that isn't you, so that you can be who you were truly meant to be in the first place.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Your first session will begin with a review of the intake information provided. This session may look a bit more structured and directive than usual. I may ask more questions in this session because I want to understand YOU and your adaptive way of being in this world. Subsequent sessions are driven by what you choose to bring to therapy that day. I do not believe in walking in front of my clients and pulling them behind me. Nor will I walk behind you and push you ahead. My purpose is to walk in tandem alongside you on your wellness journey. Every step of the way.
In-network insurances
More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I would have liked to select all of the above as positive traits that Lauren has in her therapy sessions. From the first few minutes of chatting with Lauren I could tell I would be able to open up to her. She was very warm, genuine, kind, and funny. When I began talking about my problems, she always understands and has insightful feedback. She is challenging me to bring awareness to my situation and think critically as well. Overall I have had a wonderful experience with Lauren so far and I believe that I will accomplish great things in my future because of her dedication to helping me.

I started seeing Lauren in 2022 for issues that had been bothering me for a very long time, but came to a head when my best friend died at the end of 2021. I've seen many therapists over the years, and Lauren has been the only one that has been able to assist me in improving my quality of life. Everyone I know has noticed a difference in my behavior, mindset, and sense of well-being. I have noticed it as well, which is the highest praise I can give to anyone in her field. Lauren has made such a positive impact in my life, that I can't imagine where I'd be without her. She has given me the foundation for which to work on myself in a constructive way, and though life continues to have its ups and downs, she has given me the tools to better cope with all of life's challenges.

Lauren is actually all of the above but I overall love her sense of compassion, understanding and warmth all while being straightforward and direct. I’m learning about myself, growing as an individual and getting mentally and emotionally stronger under her care. She is amazing!!!
