Getting to know Lauren Kramer

I believe therapy should be a supportive, collaborative experience where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and accepted. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where individuals can safely explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. I primarily use a person-centered approach and tailor treatment to each client’s unique background, identity, needs, and goals. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, generational patterns, neurodivergence, and emotional or behavioral challenges. I approach each client with empathy, cultural humility, curiosity, and respect, and I strive to help every person feel supported and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and a safe space where you can openly explore your experiences, concerns, and goals. During our first sessions, we will take time to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the process, and what approach feels most comfortable and helpful for you. I primarily use a person-centered approach while incorporating strategies that support self-awareness, confidence, emotional regulation, healthier coping skills, and meaningful change. Therapy will be tailored to your individual needs, identity, values, and lived experiences. I strive to make each client feel heard, respected, and supported while moving at a pace that feels comfortable and productive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session begins with checking in about how you have been feeling and discussing any concerns, changes, or experiences you would like to focus on. Together, we will identify your goals for the session and explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, or patterns that may be affecting you. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. Sessions may include developing greater self-awareness, identifying personal strengths, processing difficult experiences, practicing healthier coping strategies, and finding practical ways to manage challenges outside of therapy. During the first few sessions, we will also discuss your background, current concerns, and treatment goals so we can create a plan that feels comfortable, meaningful, and supportive. Progress will be reviewed regularly, and the therapeutic approach may be adjusted as your needs and goals evolve.

I can't recommend lau enough. From my very first session, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared about. She creates a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where it's easy to open up. I would recommend her over and over!
I felt more comfortable talking to Lauren the more sessions we did. It was helpful that we had 2 sessions per week. I was able to talk with her when about things I was burying inside for years. I also felt very accepted as a queer person in the sessions. I was able to talk about how I feel and be more aware of what I was feeling in real time.
She is kind, professional, and easy to talk to. She creates a welcoming environment and has been a great help. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist!
