Getting to know Lauren Ruest

Do you feel overpowered by your emotions? Do you have a hard time communicating to others how you feel? You are not alone. I know from my years of experience working in mental health that we all have the power to make changes in our lives. My therapeutic approach is to help individuals take a look at how their thought patterns and emotional responses impact their actions and behaviors. Our work together will focus on the present so you can build towards an emotionally healthy future. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Catholic University of America. I have a passion for helping others overcome their feelings of constant worry, overwhelm, and disconnectedness. While reaching out for help is not easy, it is a necessary first step toward your goal. If you are ready and willing to put in the work, you will be amazed at what you can learn and accomplish.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first one to two sessions will be focused on me getting to know you, why you are seeking therapy, and what you hope to gain from the experience. If you decide it's a good fit, then together we will identify goals for treatment and formulate a plan to achieve those goals. Our sessions are a safe space for you to openly express yourself and my hope is that after each session you will feel a bit lighter. I want my clients to know that I am invested in them and their success throughout our time together.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
