Getting to know Lauren Smith

Hi there! Struggling on this rollercoaster we call life? Are you consumed with thoughts and feelings you're unsure how to manage? Maybe you don't feel like there's anyone you can turn to or that anyone in your life cares. You don't have to handle this alone. I use approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma-informed care, Brainspotting, Polyvagal Theory, and Person Centered Therapy to help my clients set goals, break down bad habits like negative thinking patterns, and connect to themselves again through mindfulness and emotion regulation. I provide an open, down-to-earth environment where we focus on you and work together to get you where you want to be in life. I strive to connect and build trust with each of my clients while uplifting them and normalizing their experiences. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Ohio University in southeast Ohio and have been practicing therapy since then. I've worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds on a variety of mental health issues. I really love addressing anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions. My goal is to support others in the ways they need most to feel seen and understood. Outside of therapy, I love to be outdoors, spend time with my family, and play a variety of games.
