Laurie Castleberry, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Laurie! My name is Laurie Castleberry, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (#17968) in California, where I see clients virtually. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University and a certificate as a Certified Autism-Informed Professional (ASDI). I believe therapy is not one size fits all; I work with each individual using the approach that suits them best. My approach I collaborate with individuals to determine which therapeutic approach may benefit them most. My work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness. With couples, I use the Gottman Method to enhance communication and collaboration. My focus I enjoy working with adolescents aged twelve and over, as well as adults. I see individuals struggling with life transitions and challenges such as anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, and trauma. My communication style I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable. I encourage them to be in control of their therapy. I tell clients they are the driver, and I’m the navigator—they decide the direction of their mental health, and I support and guide them. My journey to mental healthcare I worked in the medical field and served in the military before becoming a therapist. I always gave my medical patients the best care but recognized a need for better mental health care. Now, my focus is ensuring my mental health clients receive the best care possible. My goals for you I help clients identify their strengths, and together we use these strengths to reach their goals. My first session with you During our first session, I will ask questions to get to know you better and understand your feelings and needs.
