Getting to know Laurie Downey
I'm Dr. Laurie. I hold a PhD in Clinical Christian Counseling Psychology from the International Institute of Faith Based Counseling and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Capella University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Substance Abuse Professional. I am also an Ordained Reverend, Non-Denominational, and have completed half of a Master's in Divinity. Additionally, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aeronautics and Aviation Safety.
I see clients of any age, from two years and up, and work with any mental or behavioral illness. I strive to benefit my clients by helping them recognize feelings, behaviors, and patterns that cause distress. Usually, these are learned during early childhood and can worsen throughout life if not addressed. I also process past trauma in any form. This approach allows clients to change toxic aspects of their lives, gain better self-esteem, and overcome the problems they are seeking counseling for.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
