Psychotherapist

I was born and raised in small-town Nebraska, moving to Omaha in 2009. I spent 17 years in education working with ages 5-20. I developed a passion for teaching and helping youth when I realized there was a need for more counselors who offered focused therapy options for adolescents. I began working on my Master's in Counseling in January 2020. Without a doubt, my experiences in education have equipped me in a unique way when it comes to working with adolescents and adults. I love working with teens and their parents, as those years are often filled with feelings of confusing chaos. Helping both sides better understand each other and bringing a sense of peace and collaboration within the family again is truly a beautiful experience to be part of! I graduated with a Master's in Counseling degree from Crown College. My counseling training has been focused on trauma and attachment work, with specific trainings in EMDR, Attachment Therapy, DBT, Enneagram, and Splankna. This experience, combined with my years in education, has shaped how I approach therapy as a counselor, which is research-based and results-driven. Earning my master's through Crown College has enabled me to incorporate a faith-based approach for those who request it. There is a reason that 73% of counseling programs across the United States incorporate faith: it allows clients to rest in a higher power to help them in their recovery. The decision to start therapy can be overwhelming because it requires vulnerability and a desire to change. In the end, clients often feel it was rewarding because they walk away with a more authentic understanding of self and future goals they may have never been able to imagine before. Thank you in advance for considering letting me get to know you and work with you-it is certainly a privilege I do not take lightly! I recently completed training for gastrointestinal healing through Restorative Wellness Solutions.
