Laurie, LPC-S, CCTP II, EMDR-C, C-DBT, is a Licensed psychotherapist, having worked in a variety of acute, residential and intensive outpatient treatment settings, as well as in private practice during the past 25 years. Laurie has vast expertise with dual diagnosis clients, specializing in Trauma, Anxiety / Depression and other Affective Disorders, Chemical Dependency, Personality Disorders, and LGBTQ+ clientele. Laurie is trained and skilled with the implementation of trauma-informed care practices and experienced with sound, empirical, evidenced-based practices including CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy as well as EMDR. Laurie is a seeker and values learning and growth everyday! Laurie enjoys the “ATX Vibe”, hiking, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog. Mindfulness and grounding are utilized daily both personally and professionally.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Most of us believe change is hard. It certainly can be, and I’ve experienced my share of change! I also believe in the power of change, facing what may be thought of as obstacles and transforming those obstacles into opportunities. As the quote above mentions, we cannot change without facing it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will hold space with you, as I believe you have everything needed to change obstacles into opportunities and become your best, most authentic self, mentally and physically! Whether you want to unpack past or current trauma, learn how to manage anxiety or depression, navigate life challenges or relationship issues, healing, growth and yes- change - is absolutely within your reach.
