Getting to know Lavoris Lee

We are often taught mental toughness instead of learning to seek help when we need it. Everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can learn to acknowledge and process emotions. Avoiding our issues, traumas, and problems won't make them disappear. You may have tried to cope by smoking, drinking, playing video games, or engaging in other activities that only serve as a bandage for the real healing that needs to happen. You might have been working hard not to think about issues, experiences, or traumas you can't seem to leave in the past. Yet, they somehow creep into your thoughts and often leave you feeling frustrated, angry, sad, or hopeless. Coping strategies like smoking, drinking, or distractions may provide temporary relief but don't address the deeper healing you deserve. No worries-I am here to meet you where you are and help you discover healthier coping skills, manage, and reframe your thoughts so you can feel better. As a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Master's in Clinical Social Work, I use client-centered and trauma-informed approaches to help you map out a plan for success. When you adopt healthier coping skills and begin to feel more like yourself, you can excel in your career and relationships and become the person you were created to be. With me by your side, you will not only meet your mental health goals but also the goals you have for your life. *** I do not accept Medicaid or community health plans.***

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is integrative, combining the structured and goal-oriented nature of CBT, the trauma-focused methodology of EMDR, and the depth-oriented insights of psychoanalysis. This blend allows me to address both the symptoms and underlying issues my clients face.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, i’ll begin by introducing myself and my professional background. I will explain the therapy process with my potential clients ( HIPPA, informed consent, cancellation policy, mandatory reporting, etc). I will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment to work to assess and to gain insight in specific challenges that clients are experiencing. Then, we will work to create a treatment plan to outline our goals for future sessions.

Great communicator and listener. Focuses in on the root of the problem and not afraid to call out the actual issue at hand.
