Hi there, I'm Lawrence! My name is Lawrence Stroup. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I focus on helping you find strength, build on hope, and develop skills to become more resilient for the challenges you, or you and your partner, may face. Many persons come to my services to address problems related to stress, mood, and relationship problems. My approach I utilize an eclectic approach with adult clients whom come to therapy as a couple or individually. I use the best of person centered, solution focused, trauma focused, motivational, humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and gottman method approaches. My focus I have worked with people from all ages and stages of life by helping to serve individuals, groups, and families in outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings. I have spent much of the last few years providing care in crisis and acute environments. My practice is currently focused on serving adults. My communication style Many clients have shared appreciation for an authentic, calm, caring, nonjudgmental approach for helping process their unique needs. My journey to mental healthcare Life has a way of presenting unforeseen circumstances for all of us. Having support when we need it the most is a valued need and a service I help provide to my clients. I have found over my years of experience with living in or help to serve in areas of high need that addressing the mental health of persons greatly impacts wellness, satisfaction, connections, and quality of life for individuals, groups, families, and communities. My goals for you In your first sessions we will focus on identifying challenges and further sessions will focus on change development. With couples, our first few sessions will be thorough assessment with subsequent sessions focused on addressing current stressors and goals.
