Getting to know Leah Glucksman

Hi, I'm Leah, an LMSW. I started my career in public relations, but I'd come home every night knowing that none of it mattered to anyone's actual life. That's what pushed me toward social work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Creating a safe, judgment-free space is one of my biggest priorities, and I think people feel comfortable with me pretty quickly. I check in often with my clients and follow their lead, being in tune with what they need in that moment. When someone shares something they're embarrassed about, I respond in a way that shows I actually understand why they feel that way, not just that I'm saying the right words — and people can tell the difference.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with children, teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, family conflict, identity, self-esteem, and relationships. I'm especially drawn to trauma work and to teenagers, who I think get unfairly labeled as defiant when really they're resistant to being talked down to. My training has included working with children who have experienced trauma and people from all walks of life.
