Getting to know Leah McCollum

Hi, I'm Leah. Is everything just too much? Are you feeling anxious or irritable, depressed or hopeless? You can get better, and you can get help! Whether you are experiencing a loss, going through a life transition, or just needing a listening ear, therapy can be instrumental in working through life's challenges. Seeking therapy can be hard, but it is a sign you are ready to improve your life and your mental health. I'm passionate about walking through difficult times with my clients and empowering them to make lasting changes. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and over 10 years of experience, I work collaboratively with my clients to help them improve their lives. I utilize a strengths-based approach and incorporate many evidence-based techniques into my work. My formative years as a therapist included working with at-risk children and adolescents in several Chicago Public Schools. I also have experience in medical and dental social work.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

The first appointment we spoke about me but also spoke about my boundaries with therapy. Really aligns with how I like to receive talk therapy.

Genuinely easy to talk to and is a great, active listener. Solution-oriented, super supportive and has helped me a lot since I started… I highly recommend booking a session with Leah, I’m sure you’ll have the same experience.
I have never had a therapist before so I was a bit nervous to start. Leah was friendly and so supportive and made the entire session comfortable. I would highly recommend her!
