Getting to know Leah Meshnick

Hey, I'm Leah, but most people call me Frankie. I came to this work with a deep belief that healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion. My own life has been shaped by identity exploration, mental health challenges, and experiences of loss, which continue to inform the way I show up as a therapist. I am especially committed to creating affirming, supportive spaces where clients feel seen and respected. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, and as a queer, nonbinary clinician, I hold deep care for supporting people as they explore gender, sexuality, and identity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, I have experience working with people of all ages navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, identity exploration, trauma, relationship challenges, family dynamics, and life transitions. When working with children and adolescents, I draw on my background as a teacher and arts educator, incorporating play, art, and creativity to support expression and emotional regulation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand your patterns and inner world—including the parts of you that developed to survive. My approach is warm, collaborative, and dynamic, making room for humor, grief, anger, and joy. Clients often leave therapy feeling more grounded, self-compassionate, and connected to themselves and others, with a clearer understanding of their emotional landscape and greater flexibility in how they respond to life’s challenges.
