Hi there, I'm LeAnne! I'm LeAnne Garland, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky (license #5003). I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Western Kentucky University. I typically use cognitive behavioral therapy as my approach to working with clients. My approach I usually utilize CBT therapy approaches when working with clients, but for those with a history of trauma, I incorporate DBT and EMDR. My focus I enjoy working with a wide variety of people and have experience with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and work-related stress. I prefer working with clients who are ready to address the challenges they’re facing so we can dive right in and get to work. My communication style I strive to help my clients feel as comfortable as possible. I fully explain a client’s diagnosis as well as the skills I’m helping them learn so they have a clear understanding of what’s going on and why. My journey to mental healthcare I started my career as a Victim’s Advocate with a sexual assault agency, where I first discovered my love for helping people. I then decided to go back to school to obtain my master’s degree so I could help people more and make a greater impact. My goals for you I like to have clients share their goals, and then we work together to fine-tune them. My first session with you Our first session will involve me explaining the therapy process, my style, and approach so you can get a good feel for what to expect. I will ask about some of your history, but it won’t be a full review, as I like to proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
