Getting to know Leanne Spagnola

The therapeutic relationship is the biggest indicator of successful outcomes in therapy. I’m glad you are here in search of the right therapist for you. I work from a trauma-informed psychodynamic perspective. I focus on the nature and quality of the relationships in your life, past and present, to identify strengths, pain points, patterns, and connections. When appropriate, I utilize principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to assist you in moving toward your goals. We will work together to process what is weighing on you, decipher how to move through it, and lean on your strengths and build new skills along the way. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. I trained at UCSF’s Department of Psychiatry and have experience working with children, adults, and families in the hospital, clinical, home, and school setting. I work with clients experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, separation, divorce, and co-parenting. I believe strongly in the healing power of community and belonging, creative expression, and play.
