Getting to know Lennie Wong

Do you often feel misunderstood? Do you struggle with viewing yourself and others around you in a positive way? Have you ever felt like your emotions and thoughts are on a roller coaster with no way to get off? Lennie works with people struggling with depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, communication, and negative repeating patterns in relationships. She uses Transactional Analysis, Redecision Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are not working or aligning with their value system. Lennie believes people heal best when they feel safe, understood by their therapist, and are met where they are. Lennie grew up in Alabama and attended Auburn University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion. After deciding to pursue counseling, she moved halfway across the country to Dallas and earned her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2014. Since then, she has worked with people of varying backgrounds, ages, and cultures. In college, Lennie volunteered at a pregnancy crisis center, meeting women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Many faced uncertainty and fear about the future. Lennie understands that life can be scary, especially when faced with decisions that carry significant implications. At New Heights, she often meets clients who share similar fears about the future and are experiencing that fear in the present. Lennie helps clients take life day by day by learning to live in the moment and by providing tools to better cope with what lies ahead.
