I earned my bachelor's degree from Rice University, where I was a four-year letterman and All-Conference and All-American catcher. I then pursued my master's degree in school counseling from Lubbock Christian University and completed my internship hours through Harding University. My clinical training includes working with Ascent, a mental health agency in Memphis, TN, where I completed my supervision hours for LPC licensure. Additionally, I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which are evidence-based approaches for addressing complex trauma. Before becoming a counselor, I spent twenty-five years as a Texas High School football and baseball coach. This background has given me unique insights into the mental health challenges faced by student-athletes, particularly those struggling with performance anxiety in today's performance-driven culture.
