Welcome to my profile! I'm a licensed mental health counselor (NYS) and a licensed professional counselor (CT) with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families achieve their full potential. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University and a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University. With years of experience in the field of psychology, I’ve helped countless people overcome a range of challenges and obstacles, from anxiety and depression to relationship issues and trauma. As a therapist, I believe in taking a compassionate and client-centered approach to counseling. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment in which my clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment or shame. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their goals and develop a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and preferences. My therapeutic style draws from a variety of evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, self-compassion therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also incorporate elements of positive psychology, focusing on strengths and solutions rather than just problems and deficits. Whether you’re struggling with a specific issue or just feeling stuck and unsure of where to turn, I’m here to help. I offer a warm and empathetic presence, as well as practical tools and techniques that can help you move forward and achieve your goals. What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in taking a holistic and integrative approach to counseling. This means that I take into account all aspects of a person's life - including their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and cultural background and, when necessary, their medical issues - in order to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment. I offer individual and family therapy sessions. Some of the issues I commonly work with include: - Anxiety and depression - Parenting and family issues - Self-esteem and self-worth - Life transitions and stress management - Relationship issues - Grief and loss - Trauma I have practiced as a licensed mental health counselor for several years in a variety of settings, including private practice and a private pediatrics practice. For over ten years, I advised first year students (and their families!) as an academic advisor; I focused on advising the whole person. While my practice primarily centers around adolescents and their families, I have experience and enjoy working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and am comfortable addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You talk, I listen. I may make recommendations with your permission. I may also suggest practicing some exercises between sessions to help you achieve your treatment goals. Do the work or don't: it is entirely your choice.
