What should a new client know about working with you?

Before private practice, I served for 16 years as the Employee Assistance Program Coordinator for the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), responding to critical incidents and supporting FBI personnel through high-risk situations. My work has given me insight into the impact of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit. Above all, I believe that healing happens in a safe, supportive and collaborative space. I check-in with my clients regularly, ensuring progress is being made and that they feel truly heard and understood. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to walk alongside you. Let’s start your path toward healing together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with creating a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. In our first sessions, I take time to truly listen to your story and conduct a thorough bio-psycho-social assessment to understand your experiences, challenges, strengths, and goals. From there, we collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. As therapy progresses, I use evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), depending on what will be most helpful for you. My work is especially informed by extensive experience with complex PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use concerns. Throughout the process, I balance compassion with gentle challenge, helping you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe. I view therapy as a collaborative and flexible process, regularly checking in, adjusting goals as needed, and drawing on your personal strengths to support healing, growth, and long-term change.
